About this tool
Bates numbering gives every page in a case file or document production its own permanent ID — ABC-000001, ABC-000002 … — so any page can be cited exactly. Add your files in order, set the prefix, suffix, starting number and number of digits, and Warqa stamps each page, continuing the count from one file to the next. The numbers are real text you can search for, and an index lists the range of each file. Confidential evidence never leaves your device.
Why use Warqa for this?
Frequently asked questions
Does the numbering continue across files?
Yes. The count runs through all the files in the order shown, so the second file starts right after the last number of the first. Each output file is named with its own range.
Can I search for a Bates number?
Yes. Numbers are written as real text, not images, so any PDF reader can find them and they can be copied.
Is it safe for privileged or confidential documents?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser; the files are never uploaded or stored.
Are my files safe?
Yes. There is no server that receives your files; everything is processed in your browser and stays on your device. You can confirm it in the Network tab of your browser’s developer tools.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no daily limits, no sign-up and no watermark on your files.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, it works in any modern mobile or desktop browser, and you can install it as an app from the browser menu.
