About this tool
PDF/A is the ISO standard for archiving: the file carries everything it needs — fonts, colour profile, metadata — so it opens the same way decades from now. Many government, court and records systems accept only PDF/A. Warqa converts to PDF/A-2b on your device: the text stays selectable, missing fonts are embedded with metric-compatible faces, and anything PDF/A forbids (scripts, attachments, hidden annotations) is removed.
Why use Warqa for this?
Frequently asked questions
Which PDF/A version do I get?
PDF/A-2b (ISO 19005-2, level B), the version most archives and portals ask for. It guarantees the document looks the same in the future; it allows modern features like transparency and compressed files.
Is the output really valid?
We test the converter against veraPDF, the open reference validator used by archives. If a file uses a font that can’t be embedded, we tell you, and can turn just that page into an image so the file passes.
Does the text stay searchable?
Yes. We work on the document’s own objects, so text stays text. Only pages with unembeddable fonts become images, and only if you leave that option on.
Are my files safe?
Yes. There is no server that receives your files; everything is processed in your browser and stays on your device. You can confirm it in the Network tab of your browser’s developer tools.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no daily limits, no sign-up and no watermark on your files.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, it works in any modern mobile or desktop browser, and you can install it as an app from the browser menu.
